What It Does
Every detail considered.
The times are the published ones, not calculated ones
Most apps calculate prayer times from a formula wherever you are. In Sri Lanka, Mihrabi uses the official All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama timetables for all thirteen zones, built in exactly as published, including ACJU's own adjustment for apartments and tall buildings. Your zone is picked from your location, and it works offline. Outside Sri Lanka it falls back to the method the local authorities commonly use.
An alarm that rings on silent
A notification is no use for Fajr. Each prayer can have a full athan alarm that rings even when the phone is on silent, the way the Clock app does, and you can wake at Fajr, a set number of minutes before it, or at a fixed time. A Lock Screen widget counts down to the next prayer, and during Fajr it counts down to sunrise instead, so you know how long is left.
A counter that watches rather than one you tap
Lose count of your rakats and tapping a screen mid-prayer is its own distraction. Prop the phone up and Mihrabi recognises standing, ruku, sujood and sitting, keeping count by itself. A quiet voice can say which rakat you are on, and the prayer ends by itself after the salams. Lay the phone on the mat instead and it counts each sujood.
